Stepping into the Old Town of Hastings is a creative rollercoaster ride of experiences. Having twirled away with my heavy vintage stain prom dress a good 5 years ago now, I eagerly await their 'Rummage & Plunder' sales, where each & every selected garment is a steal at £10 a pop!...

Take2

...Occasion...
...Blustery Boxing Day walk...

...Situation...
...Dressing toasty for a windy winters walk...

Living in a town of quirky traditions, this wasn't a day to take boxes of gifts round to the houses of friends & family for us! A sunny stroll on the beach is perfect to stir the appetite for Christmas feasts & a spot of "traditional" Hastings brussel sprout 'conkers' for afters! With my Mum also looking extra chic for a walk on the beach, I thought she also deserved a fashionable mention...

MeetMyFashionableFestivities

...Occasion...
Christmas Day 2013!

...Situation...
Dressing up all sparkly & special for the most awaited day of the year, but comfortable enough to fit a turkey & all the trimmings in!

Christmas is the sparkliest time of year & as being a metallic magpie, I say embrace it! Limited to what treasures I could pack in my Christmas trunk to go home for the holidays, sparkle was lacking...but that soon turned around! Opening the wrapping to reveal this beautifully delicate & decorated Alberta Ferretti top, my wishes were granted & my Christmas outfit was completed...

...Ice blue chiffon top with beaded & plastic layered embellishment - Alberta Ferretti *ChristmasPresent*...
...Black brocade cropped trousers - H&M...

...Accessorize my Life...
...Keeping it simple...Gold & Black geometric watch - Jasper Conran...

...Festive Feet...

It's that time of the year when if you don't cover up your feet, your toes might just fall off & get mistaken for a piggy in a blanket! So don't just dig out any old holey socks, make a subtle statement through the most Southern piece of your outfit by filling your stockings with festive footwear!

...Black socks with white lace trim - *MadeByMe*...
...Brocade cropped trousers - as before...

...Flock polkadot tights - H&M...

MeetMyLondon

...Occasion...
Open day at The Royal College of Art

...Situation...
Dressing for a 5 hour coach journey & then a full day in the Capital

...Waking up in Whitechapel...

...Tartan is a key trend for A/W'14, as worn by Ella...

...Working what effects the winter winds have on our hair!...

...Fashioning the backpacks!...

...Lots of layers...

...My Outfit Recipe [Let's take it from the top & break it down]...
...Long red coat  - Ryan Vintage, Manchester...
...Camel & black detailed wool cardigan - Vintage...
...Winter floral skirt - Charity shop (originally from Next Petites)

...Accessorize my Life...
...Angora black cat hat - Next...
...Heavily embroidered hand-woven cream wool scarf - Kutch, India...
...Gold skull & cross bone necklace - Pearl & Queenie, Hastings...
...Polkadot flock tights - H&M...
...White lace frilly socks - *MadeByMe*...
...Burgundy pumps - Converse...

London can be a tiring place, with hustle & bustle, business men & lots of shopping! That's exactly the reason I opted for comfy converse & lots of light layers for our little trip to a big city. With Ella & I both channelling the festive colour of the season, different trends are apparent. Tartan can re-vamp a look through an appearance on any garment & maxi overcoats add a beautiful big bang of block colour during the shorter days...

MeetMyMonochrome

...My Outfit Recipe [Let's take it from the top & break it down]...
...Black & white bird & flower print shirt - Topshop...
...Black & white dogtooth midi pencil skirt...

...Accessorize my Life...
...Angora cat ear hat - Next...
...Black & white check scarf - Oxfam...
...Black patent brogues - Clarks...

Black is the staple colour of many wardrobes. Why not brighten up yours by combining it with white, creating a lighter monochrome effect. I took the trend under my wing & dressed head-to-toe in black & white, however you could add a flash of block colour to yours for a brighter look. I suggest a vibrant fuchsia or pastel pink skirt that peeks through the sheer shirt, keeping the layered effect intact.

MeetMyAutumnalLayers

...Occasion...
Presentation day at University

...Situation...
Dressing for the autumnal breeze, but smart enough to present professionally

...Yellow suede & pearl bolero jacket - Vintage...
...Gold, pearl & black drop earrings - From India...
...Grey & yellow speckled graduated length dress - *MadeByMe*...
...Black leather clogs - Vintage Michael Kors [from Cow Vintage http://www.wearecow.com/]...

...Black leather jacket - Topshop...
...Black & white bird print scarf - From a Turkish market...
...Black leather multi-strap bag - Chloe...
...Black ankle boots - New Look Limited Edition collection...

Yes, it is that time of the year again...the double jacket layer time. Avoiding the layered bulk is key...let's face it, no one wants to look like the Michelin man! I'm opting for 2 light jackets on top of another, creating warmth & the bonus of 2 looks for inside & outside! Picking out the brightest colour from the speckled digital print, I pulled my suede bolero over my shoulders & added statement drop earring, all complementing my selected colour palette, hinting to our autumnal season surround us. For braving the cold, my leather layers are staples. Switching my metallics from gold to silver, the buckles & studs add interest to my outdoors look, with another print added to the mix through my lightweight scarf.

MeetMyRedOnRed

...Occasion...
A creative day at uni

...Situation...
Dressing to compliment my new hair cut & colour

...Black & White check wool scarf - Oxfam *latest buy*...
...White waterfall collar shirt with black polkadots - Vintage...
...Long red coat - Vintage, Oldham St, Manchester *perfect for autumn* [originally from Eastex]...
...Wet look jeans - River Island...
...Ankle boots - New Look Limited Editions...

Some would never dye their hair a bold shade because they claim they would have to alter their whole wardrobe. Well I say embrace the colour! Out with the old & in with the bold! Your wardrobe hasn't got to alter, but if your concerned about the clashing you just might have to alter your styling around it until you get used to what looks you prefer! Red is my favourite [bet you would have never guessed!] so I paired my new sleek fringe with my striking new autumnal coat to embrace & make to most of the new season.

MeetMyMenswear

...Occasion...
Arena HOMME+ 20th Anniversary celebration event featuring Stone at Flannels, Spinningfields, Manchester

...Situation...
Dressing for an urban evening event, while showing off my new 'do!

Menswear is technical & practical...but why can't it be fashionable as well? Well Arena HOMME+ magazine combined with the raw fashion wear-ability of Stone Island clothing all in one room was that perfect concoction. In a testosterone filled top floor, fuelled by beer & DJ tunes, a select 50 people were chosen to privately roam the collections to celebrate the magazine's 20th year in publication. Expressing both brands particular eye for detail, we enjoyed admiring Stone Island's Arctic outerwear & HOMMEplus's outlook on life:
ALL KILLER NO FILLER.
